We've had a bit of chilly weather around here, and fall is definitely settling in. The leaves are turning and there has even been a frost or two already. We've been packing in the outdoor items and getting ready for colder months ahead. And I have pulled out the heavy wool!
This garter stitch cowl is super easy and quick to make and just looks fabulous. Sometimes the simplest patterns are the best, don't you think? Here's a little receipe in case you'd like to work up one of your own!
Garter Stitch Cowl**
You will need:
US 13 needles
Any bulky yarn
4 buttons (1.25")
Gauge: I personally don't feel that a proper gauge is necessary to this type of cowl, but if you're keen on that sort of thing, it's roughly 2.5 - 3 sts/ 1". :)
Cast on 27 sts.
Knit 4 rows.
Buttonhole Row: Knit 2 sts, YO, (*K2tog, Knit 5 sts, YO) three times, end with K2tog, Knit 2.
Continue knitting each row until desired length is reached.
Bind off loosely and weave in ends.
Attach buttons. Wear and enjoy!
That's it! Super easy, right?
I found these fabulous buttons on Etsy. I love supporting other Etsy shops whenever I can, and I will definitely be ordering more of these gorgeous buttons from
TimberGreenWoods.
